Insurance Companies require vessel surveys for vessels 15 years or older and a renewal survey every five years. An insurance survey will also include the fair market value of the vessel. A condition and valuation survey is performed to evaluate risk. The insurance company needs to determine the vessel is structural integrity and safety with regard for the intended use of the vessel.
A pre-purchase survey is one of the most comprehensive types of inspections and is recommended when purchasing a new or used vessel. The general condition and over all operation is examined and includes inspection of the electrical systems, propulsion, fuel systems, navigation equipment, structural integrity, miscellaneous on-board systems and overall maintenance. We examines everything that is visible and can be accessed without disassembly. We recommend have the boat inspected out of the water and having a sea trial performed.
A damage assessment process begins with a comprehensive inspection of the vessel, both above and below the waterline. Our experienced marine surveyors meticulously examines the hull, superstructure, machinery, equipment, and systems to identify any visible signs of damage or deterioration. Damage Survey Services are designed to provide comprehensive vessel assessment and facilitate informed decision-making for shipowners and insurers.
